Orlando, Florida
Downtown Center for Accelerated Training

Project Description
Client: Valencia College
Status: Completed August 2019
Size: 4,300 SF
My Role: Project Lead
Valencia College in collaboration with Orlando Economic Partnership, the City of Orlando, CareerSource Central Florida, and LIFT Orlando, opened the Downtown Center for Accelerated Training: Advanced Manufacturing and Distribution Logistics (CAT-AMDL) in August 2019.
This facility provides skilled worker training on specialized advanced manufacturing equipment. The space includes computer labs, technology-enhanced classrooms and simulation labs for hands-on skills training.
Workforce programs offered by Valencia College at this location include Mechatronics, Advanced Manufacturing, Electronic Board Assembly and Distribution Logistics.
Challenges for this project included site constraints, egress requirements and existing site conditions, space limitations, and designing to accommodate high-tech training equipment.
Graduates from these programs are ready for immediate employment in high-demand industries. I’m thrilled to have been a part of this project because of its positive impact on the community.
